Kangana Ranaut has been inspiring us with her outfits over the years. The actress always takes a normal sari and makes it look glamorous and classy. As, in India, handlooms have emerged as the largest industry with weavers creating products using natural fibres such as cotton, silk, and wool. It was August 7, 2015, when Government Of India decided to celebrate today as the day of the weavers.
It was also to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on this day in 1905 in Calcutta, now Kolkata, Town Hall. As Kangana always rocks in her sari looks, we exclusively bring to you the actresses’ views on old craft as we celebrate National Handloom day today. Kangana Ranaut who attended the Cannes Festival this year, left everyone in shock as the actress nailed her indo-western sari look at the festival.
As we celebrate National Handloom Day today, the actress has taken some time to share her views with her on saving the old craft in the country. Kangana said, “We can save thousand years old craft by being conscious and considerate. I always try and promote the ancient art of handicrafts on Indian and as well as on the International scale. But, It’s sad that a style that describes India and its richness is dying and the weavers are committing suicide due to poverty and lack of jobs.” Sharing her opinion on this special day, the actresses’ main goal is to promote the ancient art of handicrafts on the national as well as international level.

It was decided by the Government in July 2015, that National Handloom Day will be celebrated annually to revive the roots of handlooms and provide work to weavers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first National Handloom Day, at the centenary of Madras University in Chennai on August 7, 2015.
